Today's picture is of both a photograph and a painting I am working on of a surreal sunset off the southern tip of Malaga Island, Maine. This island is at the mouth of the New Meadows River off Sebasco and is rich in history. Google Malaga Island, Maine to find out more about the island which once was home to a colony of freed slaves and poor whites who were forceably removed in the early 1900s.

Captain has gone out fishing with a friend and I am on the mainland running errands and catching up on my networking. The weather has finally warmed up but it is still cold in the mornings. Only 43 this morning! Brrr!

Also working on a big painting of Sebasco Harbor Resort with boats in the harbor and lobster traps on the wharf in the foreground. This one is on a big long piece of super cool driftwood I found recently.

Just started the background for a painting of my father's cows last night. It is very similar to one I started last summer called "My Father's Field" which I later ruined by mistake. I have a pic of it though and it's uncanny how similar this one is to that. I'll have to do some practicing on cows before I can paint them realistically, though. Trying to paint a cow in the last one was what ruined it as I recall LOL.

Not much else happening. Still haven't been swimming and sure would love to. Talked to my boy in New York (Brooklyn) last night. He's doing well. Love talking to him. He's such a smart guy. I'd like him even if he weren't mine. Always interesting to talk to.

Well, off to run more errands. More later.
