Today's picture is a rough sketch out of a painting I am working on of Sebasco Harbor Resort in Maine. There will be a lot more detail added to the harbor and the trees and I will need to put the wharves on the left side. Also, the harbor is going to be full of sailboats and a few lobster boats as it usually is during the summer months. I am painting this one on a nice, irregularly shaped piece of driftwood. Very unusual. I am anxious to finish this one as well as three or four others I started previously.
The weather in Maine has been spectacular! I mean like 90 degrees for a few days and not much less than that even now. Feels more like the middle of July than not even the first of June! The garden is all in (thanks to the Captain) and everything is already coming up like crazy. Can't wait to start eating vegetables from the garden again. I've missed it.
Spinney's Restaurant is great again this year. I just love working down there. The ambiance alone makes it worth going in. Plus it's great to see all the regulars who come in early and late in the season. We already have a lot of tourists, too.
Need to decide if I'm going to fix the barn up or not. Went up to see it the other day and peruse the situation and it's worse than I thought. Need three windows and some work on one portion of a wall. Also, the hay loft door on the second level has a crack around it and I need a ramp built to get up there. Also need to relocate the bats which, unfortunately are here already for the season. Have the bat houses ready to be mounted but need to figure out how to fix it so then can get out of the barn but not back in. Definately have to fix windows first. Sooooo much work! Might be easier to rent a place. We'll see.
Well, I have an ugly to-do list today (it's my day off from Spinney's) so I better get down to it. More later.
