Well here I am, just a country girl in the big city. Too bad it's raining out. I won't be able to take the photos I wanted to use as reference material for a series of paintings I'm planning of NYC and Brooklyn. Today's picture is one I borrowed from a friend, Amanda Richards, that she took just recently on a trip to New York. Thank you!
Having a wonderful visit with my son and his girlfriend regardless of the weather. I managed to make it all the way down here from my little fishing village in Maine on the Greyhound bus and the NYC subway (Q line). There were so many people! Good thing I was in cell phone contact with my son after I got to Brooklyn or I would have been headed the wrong direction but other than that it was a smooth trip.
We're all hanging out playing or blogging on our computers today after having supremely fresh bagels and cream cheese earlier. Went by the B&B and got my keys for my stay there tonight (just a few blocks away). It's lovely. Going to Hearth tonight and maybe to Chelsea Market first. I'm still hoping the rain will stop so I can get a few pictures at least while I'm here. If not maybe in the morning before I leave as we'll likely go to the Green Market after breakfast at the B&B.
So glad I made the trip and will def be back for another visit again soon. Would love to spend one whole day just checking out art museums. The bus came down 5th Avenue right past the Guggenheim and I so wanted to get off right there and then and go in. For sure next trip down.
Heard from the Captain and he, Puffy, and Blackie are all doing fine. He's holding down the fort while I'm gone. Sure glad someone is!
When I get home I'm going to get back to painting! More later.
