Today's picture is one of a series of four wildflower acrylic on paper paintings I completed recently. This one is of the field of flowers in my dooryard in Maine. I always love it when they come in bloom as they add so much color to the landscape. I'll be posting many more recent paintings on my twitter updates which can be found on the lower right hand side of the homepage of this website.
We have been having a good old time out on the island. I have been playing with the kittens a lot and painting every chance I get. Some days I get so wrapped up in painting I almost forget to eat. That has done wonders for my wasteline. Last week was the first time I didn't bring chocolate to the island. I am absolutely addicted to chocolate.
There has been a rascally raccoon hanging out at the camp lately and getting into anything we forget to put away. Frank said it has little ones but I don't know how he knows. Would love to trap and relocate the whole bunch of them. Puffy is reluctant to go out too much as she knows a cat is no match for a raccoon. Not even a Maine Coon cat.
My show at the Stadler Gallery which was scheduled late this coming fall has been moved up to the later part of june and first few weeks of July 2011. This works out better for me as I believe sales would be better over the Independence Day holiday and during the warm summer months when the tourists are visiting the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. This will also give me an opportunity to have a much wider range of work to choose from for my show.
Checking on Calls to Artists and grant opportunities next. My mail finally got forwarded so I'm all caught up on everything else. Not much else new. Me and the Capt. are going to what we've affectionately labelled "Tangerine Island" tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be spectacular and we are out of tangerines for juice. We've been making the most wonderful wine coolers with tangerine juice and white zinfandel. More later.
