Well, I've given two weeks notice at my job waitressing at Spinney's Restaurant, Popham Beach, Maine so I can pursue my art career full time. I just started painting a few years ago and it is what I should have done since I was a child and began sketching at about the age of seven. It is what I have always been and always will be, an artist.

I'll be painting at my newly renovated Barn Gallery in Phippsburg mornings and have my evenings free to hang out at home along the edge of the New Meadows River in Sebasco with my lobster fishing sea captain, Frank, my partner of 20 years.

It will be nice to be able to have time for kayaking, too and riding my bike which I haven't done in way too long. Of course there's blackberrying, too and they will be ripe soon. I'll def miss everyone down at the restaurant but can now visit and have them wait on me for a change!

Feel blessed for the opportunity to paint when I choose now and have very optimistic hopes for the future of my barn studio and gallery. My first ever show last week with seven other local artists was very well received to say the least.

Today's photo is of the painting that was the most popular at the show and I sold three prints from a limited edition series of 22 of this one titled Seastars. It is from one of my earliest works (2007) and is an oil and mixed media on canvas board. The original is in my private collection and is not for sale though I did display it at the show and lots of people really liked being able to see it even if they could only have a print. I was thrilled that others loved it too.

Housework awaits (unfortunately) so I'm getting to it now. I have tomorrow off so if I get this place cleaned up today I can paint all day tomorrow. Oh, what fun! Have a wonderful day friends and thanks for following. It's foggy and chilly in Maine. More later.
