No Smoking for me in Maine

Sep 29, 06:21 AM

How about this weather! I don't ever remember sunbathing in late September in Maine. I have a feeling we are going to pay for this very, very soon!

I was down and out with something for about a week. No waitressing, no painting, no berrying, nothing but sleep.  Did manage to lose five pounds during that time and quit smoking, too.  There is a silver lining in every cloud indeed.

Had a great time working at Spinney's Restaurant on Popham Beach yesterday.  Dr.  Jeffrey P. Brain, Mrs. Brain, and a guest came in for lunch and I had the pleasure of waiting on them. Dr. Brain is the archaeologist who found the original site of the 1607 Popham Colony in Phippsburg, Maine. He is an amazing man and the Mrs. is just as sweet. I was flattered that he remembered me from a few years back when I interviewed him for a newsletter about the colony I wrote for a local non profit.

My son is working on finishing touches to my new website. I decided on a  logo last week based on an original graphic art illustration I have plastered all over the menus at Spinney's. I figured  hundreds of thousands of people have seen it and recognition is what it's all about. Can't wait for the new site to go up.

Need to get ready for a wait shift this morning so that's all for now. Not much else happening until I get some time off to start painting again. I can't wait for that either!

I hope everyone has a fantastic day. Dream big. More later.
