My Little Popham, Maine Paintings

So today I went up to the barn to finish a few paintings I started last week. Instead I decided to paint something on these little 4x4 canvas blocks. I worked with these in Florida last winter and really enoyed it. Have just a few finishing touches to put on these before they are done.

Never got the hurricane everyone was predicting. It is fairly windy today and we got a little rain last night but fortunately that's all. In fact it's sunny and gorgeous out this afternoon and if it werent so windy it would be a perfect kayaking afternoon.

Have all the patches cut out for my nieces quilt and have the design layed out, too. May not start sewing this until later in the fall as I usually don't work on quilts until late fall and winter. This project is so much fun, though, I may break my own rule. I'm making it from her first and second year clothing. All kinds of cute little sayings like Daddy's Girl, Spoiled, I may be little but I'm the boss! I'm incorporating pockets, buttons, snaps, and more to it so she can play with it as well as use it to keep herself warm. Of course her mother wants this king size (why I don't know as she's only three years old). Maybe so she can enjoy it for a longer time. Hope so :)

Sent out the paperwork for the business permit for my new art studio and gallery business in Phippsburg. Should be going before the planning board in a few weeks. Getting really excited to start my own business.

Hanging out at home with the Captain and the kitties tonight. Everyone is doing fine. I'm not making dinner 'cause mom gave us boiled dinner that she made. Yummy! She also gave me a cool wicker desk that someone was giving away. Looks like something right out of an old Humphrey Bogart movie. Love it. Took it right up to the barn.  Think I got the last of the blackberries last night before the rain and wind knocked them down. More later.

  1. Hi Andrea!
Hope you’ll be posting a picture of your niece’s quilt. It sounds like a very satisfying process.
