Malaga Island%2C Maine - View from My Window

Today's picture is a very large, very thick, oil on stretched, framed canvas. This is the view of Malaga Island, Maine from my upstairs bedroom window. This painting was created from both a photograph of this view and real life as I was painting it.  I seriously considered placing a horizontal window frame and latch across the center of this piece as this was what was in actual view. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, so decided to just leave it the rocks that were behind the windowsill.

Just sold yesterday's blog painting of the Squirrel Point Ligthhouse at Phippsburg Center, Maine. I had this particular person in mind when I painted it but didn't want to pressure her to buy this piece when she came to see my paintings so I didn't tell her which one I painted "for her." She ended up choosing the exact one I painted for her. Isn't that the coolest thing? I had a feeling she'd like that one as I was painting it.

Need to go get all my filing and year end paperwork in order so it will be ready for the accountant soon. I truly dislike it and would much prefer painting but there'll be plenty of time for that this winter.

Also, want to spend some quality time with my son today as he'll be moving to NYC very soon. I'm going to miss him (and his tech support) more than I can imagine I'm sure. More later.
