These are periwinkle people. They are made with little seashells (periwinkles) and seaglass from Maine. We made these when we were little and they are still fun to make. I wouldn't call them art but they are a cute little craft for the kidlets to try while on vacation here in Maine and a sweet little keepsake to take back home.
Well, yesterday I read an unpublished novel written by a twitter follower from Cape Elizabeth. He is a comic book artist and writer and I really enjoyed reading the novel. It is very good and hopefully he will decide to have it published as I think it would be a good seller. It was lots of fun to read an unpublished manuscript. Hope I wasn't too critical as I edited the hell out of it. His writing was fantastic, just a few typos here and there.
Made a few seaglass sculptures yesterday but just wasn't in the mood to paint. That was, of course, until I got back home where I no longer have any art supplies. Ordering more oils today and some large canvases to get started on my series of NYC and Maine Seascape paintings for my show next year at the Stadler Gallery in Maine. I know what I'm painting for the NYC scenes but haven't started yet. Really anxious to get these going as they are going to be thick oils and will likely need most of the winter just to dry.
I think I have a bbq to go to today but not sure. Have to check FB for the date and time to be sure. That should be a lot of fun as the girl that's having it is a real sweetheart. I used to work with her at Spinney's. She has four children and looks like she's just graduated high school. Need to find out what her secret is!
Headed to the barn to paint soon. Captain's gone fishing. A little networking then I'm off. Have a wonderful day. More later.
