So here is the Black Flowers painting I made yesterday morning. I liked it a lot just as it was but wanted to add some stems to it without actually doing anything more to the painting. So, I took a photo of the painting then shopped this a bit to give it the finished quality I wanted. I am very pleased with the smooth and oriental look which was not intended originally. I like this enough that I might make some note cards for myself from it.
I've stayed true to the paint colors. The mauve was what became of the leftover red, white, and blue paint from the previous painting I was working on of a red sunset. I loved the color and holding my black acrylic tube about four feet high or so I dripped the black paint into big splotches right on top of the wet mauve base. These then became the primitive flowers and the rest I already told you about.
Twitter was abuzz today with the political outcome this morning of the referendums. I thought it wasn't really cool to talk about politics on Twitter. I kind of hope it's not because I saw enough today to last awhile.
It's been warm and sunny in Maine. That will end soon. Snow may be coming tomorrow. I'm trying to get everything wrapped up here for year end so we can head south before too long. More later.
