Here is a sure cure for the "Empty Nest Syndrome" so many of us mothers suffer when our children move out on their own. This is Ibby. He is great. Furry, fun, and purrs when you pick him up. Here is a video of him in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XyvocoEock. I will always miss having my wonderful son, Z, living with us, but Ibby keeps me entertained and gives me something to take care of.
Checking on the procedure for obtaining a business permit to open my new art gallery in Phippsburg, Maine. If I were living on the property it would be considered a home business but since I'm not I have to get all the permits in place first. Not all that difficult except for the fact that there are eight abutting neighbors! That's a lot of signatures to acquire before I can proceed. Don't think anyone will care but it's a matter of chasing everyone down. Oh, for the good old days when everyone just did what they wanted and no one really cared :)
Went out to dinner with my bff last night at Water's Edge Restaurant in Sebasco, Maine right across from Malaga Island. It was the night when the Phippsburg Fire Department had some of their volunteers waiting tables at the restaurant as a fundraiser. This goes on every year and there's always a spectacular turnout. Everyone in town was there it seemed and it was just like old home week. Love it!
Captain's having the engine repaired today. Never good to be down in the middle of the lobstering season but it's not a huge problem so maybe it will get fixed today. He's been itching to go tuna fishing again, too. Sure would like to see him get one.
I have some paperwork to do then headed up to the barn after daylight to do some painting. If it's dry enough outside I'll pick some wild blackberries, too, and can them for this winter. Nothing quite like sweet, wild, Maine blackberries in the middle of January. Yum, yum. More later.
